Terms and Conditions

At Raven & Ryegrass, we want to ensure that we give the best service available to our customers. Our terms and conditions cover all aspects to avoid any disputes with our wedding/event flower contracts. By paying the booking fee to secure your wedding/event flowers with Raven & Ryegrass you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Booking your wedding

 1.1       Due to the time required and limited availability, all wedding/event consultations are by appointment only and weddings can only be booked following a consultation with us. The initial consultation is complimentary. Any quotes provided following the consultations will be valid for 7 days, after this point if the date has not been reserved it will be opened back up to other couples.

1.2       A booking fee of 20% of your final balance along with a signed copy of the terms and conditions is required to secure your date. Acceptable methods of payment are cash or bank transfer. This is deductible from your final invoice.

1.3       Once your wedding/event date has been reserved and your non-refundable booking fee paid, you are not permitted to reduce your order by more than 10% of the total cost. You can however look to increase your order should our resourcing allow.

1.4       The final invoice for your wedding flowers will be issued to you after your order has been confirmed. Full payment for the product/service must be received prior to the event or service and no less than 4 weeks before the event. If you fail to pay the balance by the required date, we reserve the right to cancel your order and in the event that we are approached about another wedding or event, they will take priority if payment has been received from them.

1.5       If you decide to postpone your wedding and we are available on your revised date, then we will hold the non-refundable booking fee against your new date. If we are not available on your chosen date, your booking fee will not be refunded.

1.6       Raven & Ryegrass will order your flowers approximately 10 to 14 days before your event date, dependent on the type of flowers chosen. No changes to your order can be made after this point.


2.1       Cancellation of the Raven & Ryegrass products or service must be notified as soon as reasonably possible. Once a wedding/event has been confirmed Raven & Ryegrass will order flowers, reserve staff and sundries and may refuse to supply other events that wish to book our services. Therefore, charges are payable for any cancellation of a confirmed event. Any booking fee paid will be retained regardless of the circumstances of the cancellation. As per term 1.4, we must receive full payment 4 weeks before the event. If you cancel the event within this time, after we have received payment from you, we will be unable to offer a refund, and will retain the full amount. We recommend taking out comprehensive wedding insurance. The date of receipt of this notice will determine the cancellation charge applicable.

6 months or more before the event date: Booking fee retained, no further payment required.

3-6 months before the event date: booking fee retained and an admin fee of £150 required.

4 weeks to 3 months before the event date: Booking fee retained and 25% of final amount payable.

4 weeks up to event date: Booking fee retained and full amount payable.

Products and services

3.1       All Raven & Ryegrass products are subject to availability. Fresh flowers are a living product and are dependent upon weather conditions, quality checks and sometimes influences beyond our control. They may differ in both colour and size. In the event of any supply difficulties, we reserve the right to substitute a previously agreed ingredient or component within a design with an alternative product of equivalent value and quality without notice. This includes specific flowers/plants and sundries that may not be available.

3.2       Occasionally the suggested or requested flower colour will not be available to buy. In these rare circumstances, we reserve the right to choose an alternative colour that is as close to the original colour as possible.

3.3       Raven & Ryegrass are sole provider of fresh decoration. Other than church flowers we will not work or collaborate with any other floral decorator for your wedding/event.

Breakages and losses

4.1       Unless otherwise stated all vases, props and nightlights remain property of Raven & Ryegrass. The client is responsible for the goods during the hire period until the goods are accepted back into the possession of Raven & Ryegrass. Losses and breakages will be charged for at our replacement cost. All items must be returned in the condition they were delivered.

4.2       Raven & Ryegrass do not accept responsibility for the client’s property and items are left with Raven & Ryegrass at the owner’s risk.

4.3       Raven & Ryegrass hire in many items for use in floral events, all items are checked before leaving us. However, if an item were to break, crack or cause injury to a 3rd party or individual, then Raven & Ryegrass will accept no responsibility. We will provide full contact details of the hirer and from there the disputes to be settled are between the client and the supplier of said faulty items.

4.4       The hire period for all goods supplied by Raven & Ryegrass will be variable and agreed prior to your wedding/event, along with details for return/collection.


5.1       The liability of Raven & Ryegrass for a supplier’s failure to perform or to provide services is limited to the value of that supplier’s services.

5.2       In any event Raven & Ryegrass has no liability for any failure to provide any services due to industrial action, postal or communications delay, plant failure, hostilities or any other circumstances beyond the control of Raven & Ryegrass. Whilst we agree to use our reasonable endeavours to ensure that Raven & Ryegrass services are fully operational and error free, we cannot guarantee this. Acts of God, sudden ill health and adverse weather conditions may affect our ability to deliver goods/services. However, in cases of adverse weather we will remain in contact with the event commissioner in the lead up to an event.

5.3       Raven & Ryegrass accept no responsibility for any damage caused by flames or lit candles at a wedding/event once we have left the wedding/event set up.

5.4       Please be aware that some flower and plant varieties can cause skin reactions or allergies. Please take appropriate care and do not ingest. Raven & Ryegrass cannot accept any responsibility for any adverse reactions.

Delivery and Set-up

6.1       Incorrect personal details may lead to problems or delays in delivery, so before placing or confirming your order for a product or service, please ensure that you, the client, have provided full address and telephone details, including an accurate postcode of the venue or agreed recipient and your contact telephone number or email address so that we can notify you in the event that any delivery problems are encountered.

6.2       The flowers for a wedding/event will be delivered or set up at a time previously agreed between Raven & Ryegrass and you. If for any reason, we are not able to meet the delivery or set up time, you will be notified as soon as feasibly possible. Raven & Ryegrass will personally deliver and set up your flowers unless otherwise agreed. For large events trusted assistants are brought in to ensure smooth and timely set up.

6.3       Raven & Ryegrass accepts no responsibility for failure to collect, wear or use any arrangements for specific use by the bridal party, i.e. buttonholes or bouquets, once they have been left by our team at the relevant, and pre-agreed venue. Any oversight to correctly collect and, for example, pin on buttonholes on behalf of the wedding party as a whole, or by an individual, remains the responsibility of said wedding party and/or individual.

6.4       Responsibility for the disposal/collection of the floral designs and installations after the event does not lie with Raven & Ryegrass. If ‘take-down’ is required please contact us for a separate quotation.


 7.1       No alteration to these terms will be valid unless approved in writing by Raven & Ryegrass.

7.2       In the event that the client is not satisfied with the Raven & Ryegrass product/service, any complaints should be addressed in the first instance, and within 1 working day of the delivery date to:

7.3       Raven & Ryegrass reserve the right to use images taken at the wedding/event. We may post these via social media, on our website, or through media and blog posts. We are very happy to send images to you if requested.
